When is the best time to post to social media?
It’s best to have a fresh post ready for whenever your audience is most likely to see and engage with your content. Typically for many businesses, the best time to post new content and share it on social media is on a weekday at lunch time, around 12-2pm M-F. However, there have been numerous studies that try to breakdown the best time to post by social media network site, industry, day of the week, etc. Basically, you should know your audience (demographics, etc.) and try to post when they will be most active on social media. You also want to try to be consistent, so posting at the same time and at the same frequency is ideal.
The second best time to share is right now
If you can’t share your content at the optimal time, ultimately, the next best time to post content to social media is whenever you get a chance. It’s better to post your content when you can, than to not post at all. And while it helps to share a post on a regular interval, don’t feel guilty and get discouraged if you can’t always post your content to social media at the optimal time and frequency.
Post Automation
There are plenty of tools out there to help you manage your social media posting – both free and paid. They’ll even let you schedule exactly when you want your posts to appear. So you don’t have to be on your computer or phone when you want to post. Plan ahead and write that blog post whenever you have some free time and then schedule it for when your audience is looking. My favorite content marketing social media manager is Hoot Suite, but there are many others to choose from. You can also easily make use of the Facebook scheduling feature.
