WordPress 5.0 is here, are you ready for it?
Perhaps you’ve heard people talking about “Gutenberg”, but if you aren’t in the WordPress Development field, you probably haven’t. Gutenberg is the long awaited, newly designed WordPress editor. It is block-based, similar to other drag and drop website builders. After much anticipation, it has been delivered in WordPress 5.0 “Bebo”. For those using WordPress for years, it may take a little getting used to. But it’s very easy to use once you mentally accept that it is different than what you are used to.
The update to WordPress 5.0 is a big change, perhaps the biggest ever.
Most likely even if you have automatic updates on your website, it will not automatically update to WordPress 5.0. When you are ready to update you should ensure you have a backup of your website and all of your plugins are updated. Then you can just manually update through your dashboard.
You don’t have to fully commit just yet.
If you’re not ready to use the new block-based editor, I still recommend you upgrade to 5.0 for security and compatibility reasons. However, you can install the classic editor as a plugin. Tada! The old editor you are used to is still available. For more information, you can read up on the new WordPress editor

Really, such a valuable web page.
